So I got home two days ago and decided to water my 'garden'. I had watered it really well a couple of days prior, and we had some fantastic weather!
I probably should also mention at this point that I made my own red-neck green house. I thought I'd be clever, and take my dog kennell, put all my seedlings inside and cover it with plastic. (PRETTY GENIUS, I THOUGHT!)

The bricks were to keep the wind from ripping the plastic off. |
For a couple of weeks now, this idea has worked beautifully! Everything has been snug as a bug in a rug. Unfortunately, I didn't think very far into the future. NOTE TO SELF: when the weather is warm, green houses need ventilation.
As soon as I pulled that plastic back, a rush of warm air hit me in the face and half of my weaker plants were gone! Shrivelled up to nuthin'!

Poor Tomatoes! |
My heart was broken! I was doing so well! I was so proud! ugh. Not my garden! I never thought it would get so warm that it would kill them. They were gone. *pout face*
And here's the weird part: I had two sets of seedlings. When we first bought the house, I went and bought some cheap seeds and started sprouting them up. A few weeks ago, I bought organic seeds and did a separate round of the same veggies. The organic seeds were the ones that died! Wonder what that means?!
Oh well...
Tonight: I replanted. I'll have fresh veggies again in no time! Thankfully, it's the beginning of the season. PLUS, I know that my greenhouse works! It just works really well. I just need to install a 'ventilation system' and I'm back in business!
Dead veggies aren't gonna get me down!

NOOOOOOOOO!!! MY TOMATOES!!!!!
Okay, so I realize they're YOUR tomatoes but I just know you were gonna pass a few on to me... and there ain't nothin' better than a garden fresh tomato!!!
Waaaahhhh! I'm glad you are resilient and not a quitter. By the way, I'm TOTALLY a quitter and that's why I need you in my life! Ha!
LOL. Nah. You're not a quitter! It took me 2 seconds to just poke holes back in the dirt and drop more seeds in. Hopefully I can keep them alive this time. I'm horrible at growing things. I've tried to grow veggies every year, but I've always had them on a balcony, and I usually forget to water them. This year, we've spent alot of time outside in the yard and I love it! So I've been able to keep a close eye on them. This year I'm determined to finally grow my own food! ... and P.S..... I'll totally share if I can keep them alive. ;)
