All About Me

Chasity Jameson
Welcome to my blog! My name is Chasity Jameson. I am a 28 year old country girl at heart. I work full time, and I'm currently taking a hiatus from school. I am almost halfway to obtaining my degree in Accounting. My husband and I recently bought a home (FEB 2013) and have been remodeling the entire thing, which takes up a majority of my spare time (AS YOU CAN IMAGINE). I love to cook and try new recipes, but I have to admit that I am a southern girl at heart. I was raised on butter and salt. If it's not smothered in one or the other, it's not considered southern food in my book. I'm also a dessert junkie. If there is a dessert within a 20 mile radius, I'll sniff it out. This doesn't really jive well when you're trying to eat healthy. But hey, life is all about finding balance... right?

I currently work for an education publishing company, but I've spent half of my career working in the ministry. I am a certified counselor through the National Association for Marriage and Family Counselors. This does not mean that I am a licensed counselor. It just means that while working in the ministry, I was cleared to speak with people concerning minor issues. I am also a certified Single's Pastor.

I married my sweetheart on August 4, 2012. We met ONLINE. Yes, that's right. I never believed that I'd be one of those people, but that's how it happened and there is no one in this world that is a more perfect fit for me. He has two children from his previous marriage: Tori and Chandler. They live in Colorado with their mom, and they get to visit us every year during the summer and at Christmas. They are really good kids! We also have one stay at home "kid"... our dog Lily Mae. She was my rescue baby.

I tend to be a homebody. I also have a serious candle addiction. Home + Candles = Heaven. I secretly enjoy cleaning and cooking. I LOVE the smell of fresh laundry and the sound of the dishwasher running. I guess it just makes me feel productive. I also LOVE cooking from scratch. It's pretty empowering to make things that taste just as good or BETTER than something you'd buy at the store. And it never ceases to amaze me that I have the ability to do it! Unfortunately, with my schedule, it's something that I really only get to do on the weekends. It's my hobby.

There is never a dull moment at my house and I constantly have a funny story to tell. I tend to be pretty optimistic and I'm always looking for the good in every situation. I spent alot of time, as a child, with my great-great aunt (MY AUNTIE) who was 60 years old when I was born. I guess you could say that I was raised old-school. I grew up eating mashed potatoes and fried eggs instead of baby food! She lived in the country and was poor as a church mouse - but she was happy. I learned how to be genuinely grateful for what I had, and how to love others deeply because of the example she set. I loved her simple lifestyle. There were no bells and whistles, and she didn't know any different. Our society today has grown away from that, and in the midst of big-city-livin' - I yearn for that simple country life. This is my journey to contentment, and my return to the simpler things of life.

Find a cool breeze, pull up a chair, grab you a sweet tea, and stay awhile....
